Sugardrops | Glamour Photographer Crazy
Hello Beautiful, my name is Jennifer. I am a photographer. I know what beautiful looks like. I can see yours. I know how to bring it forward, and how to capture it with my camera. I also know what it’s like to be a woman who struggles to see her own beauty. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to create the most beautiful portraits you have ever had. I want to show you how beautiful you are; to help you reconnect with the woman you see in your portraits, and be awed by her again.

IT’S CRAZY TRYING TO SHOOT ONESELF

Screen Shot 2015-10-18 at 4.20.04 PM
Want to know the definition of crazy?  It’s a glamour photographer trying to shoot herself!!!!!  I was so smug and thought “I got this” when I decided it was time to take a new profile picture for my social media.  Duh.

At the very least, I had just enough good sense to use my makeup artist, Alana Agerbo, and not try to give myself a “makeover”.  Especially ’cause my 50-year-old eyes can’t see a damn thing without my glasses on.  Gah!!!!

On a positive note, it was probably the absolutely best thing I could have ever come up with in terms of servicing my clients.  Now I know exactly how they feel in front of the camera.  I get the insecurity that floods your brain and tries to take over… what if people see my portrait?!?  I get it.  But I still won’t let you off the hook, ’cause I know how fantastic you REALLY look.  Trust me.

I did it, and in the end, I was quite happy with the shots I…er…Alana got.  I directed her on which buttons to press, where to focus, and how not to fall off the stool.  I rather lamely tried to pose myself backwards (remember, it’s the reverse when you’re behind the camera).  Ironically, Alana caught the best shot of the day on her iphone!!!!!!

We had lots of laughs making the Youtube video.  Video’d a hilarious first cut, and then came up with the more professional, potty-mouth-free version that I published.  We were in stitches planning our next videos!  Stay tuned, we’re almost certain to become famous for making idiots out of ourselves (hey…anything for fame).  Ellen is definitely going to invite us to L.A. and give us a free car!!!!!!
